8 Mjøsa rundt. Around Mjøsa, the bigest lake of Norway, 246 km
I parked my car and started by Minnesund. The southern end of lake Mjøsa.
Started 04:30 o clock. Biked then up to Skrerifjella and over the Toten hills. All along at small and narrow roads.
I met 2 beavers, one fox and some big birds in the forests. A lot of animals an early morning.
Ups, wrong turn. It was a lot of small rooud and much navigating over Totenåsen/ Toten hills.
It tok 3 houers the first 30 km.
The sign: Danger, gunfire. The Royal Guard got an exercicing field up there.
Some south-american animals.
At the abandoned railway Skreia railway.
Kraby station was a small arcitehture pear.
But the bicycletrack at the old railway was muddy and bad.
To avoid the road nr 33 with much traffic along the lake I biked over the hills and through the forest Totenåsen. But it tok 3 hours to bike 30 km. The red arrow is pointing at the route from the forest.
A fine day for a long bicycletrip. Wiew of Helgøya island and lake Mjøsa.
Gjøvik in sight. "the whithe town by Mjøsa".
I use to bike Gjøvik - Oslo severale times.
By Biri, there is a bridge over Mjøsa, so it is possible to make a shortcut.
Absolutly nothing I was thinking at. I continue all the way around the lake.
North of Biri.
Lillehammer in sight.
Between Lillehammer and Brumunddal I tok a road uphill to Lismarka, towards Mesnali. This is the lake Næra. And then it was downhill to Næroset, Rudshøgda and Brumunddal.
The finest part of the route. Between Jessnes and Hamar. The track is following the shoreline all the way here. In the afternon sunshine.
The railway museum in Hamar. 3 rails is special.
They got that between Kristiansand and Grovane once upon a time.
So both trains heading for the Setesdal line and the main line Sørland line could use the same railway for the common distance.
